My specialty – a fabulous, surprise find! – one of those rare discoveries that give the Magicvintagespy goosebumps of satisfaction. I found it more than a year ago, but didn’t have an opportunity then to make a good photograph. This uniform is from the mid-1960’s.
Don’t you wonder what stories it could tell? And all the conversations it heard and scenes it witnessed? I love to imagine all those things. Every waitress witnesses the whole world while slinging hash.
It’s such a treat to find a garment that you KNOW took a lot of abuse and got splashed with of coffee, gravy (and goodness knows what else) still in such wonderful condition! These babies were made to stand up to it, and I am ever – grateful.
By the way, Happy Halloween hunting . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . . . . .. . . . . . . . . .

HAPPY TURKEY DAY EVERYONE! We have so much to be thankful for, and I’ll think of all the excitement and happy times that this mid-century smock has probably seen over the years while I enjoy a beautiful meal at sea.
Today, on a more-or-less routine survey, I had wonderful good fortune. I’m just about to re-examine and photograph my newest acquisitions and get them ready to post on the blog. Because I have already scheduled postings for the next three days, expect to begin seeing these on Sunday, Nov. 13.
Wow again. Tons of fun! This one didn’t cause the mystery and the “a-ha” moments that the dress did, but it was just an immediate Back to the Future experience!!
