Love it, love it, love it! What a cute little day dress in charcoal, with white machine embroidery all over and white accents. With the decorative pockets and a couple of pleats in front, she’d be stepping out in style.
The belt-keepers are also charcoal, so I put a black belt on just for display. However, I think that a white tie belt similar to the neck tie would look sweet. A matching belt could always be made from extra fabric in the hem, if that works, too. We’ll see.
So, late 1950’s or very early 1960’s for this one – just right for a movie date on Saturday afternoon or a little shopping trip. Take a close-up look at the embroidery. It’s really special. . . . . . .

This cute lounging outfit (or hostess set for your patio party) was made by Dash About. There is an embroidered tag inside.
When I found this, I thought it was made in Hawaii because of the fabric, but probably not. It’s just a lovely polished cotton printed in brilliant colors.
The top could even be worn as a mini-dress. I can see Cher in something like this. I just love the print and the peacock hues.
Metal zipper up the back. The pants have an elastic waist, so it’s nothing high-end. But really cute and versatile. You won’t see anything like this around the next corner!

Way before L.L.Bean, etc. there was at least one designer making a line of clothing meant for travel. Cool and light, with wrinkle-free ease.
This pretty top by Clair Tiffany is a fun example and a surprise for me. I’ve come across her garments only once or twice before. Synthetic material, with an atomic/abstract print and front tie decoration. Pure turn-of-the-Fifties-to-Sixties style and the colors are unusual, which is one of the best things about true vintage clothing and accessories.
Yes, the advances in fabric treatments have come a long way since then and the convenience factor in travel clothing has grown, but the vintage versions are much prettier and more interesting than what we can buy now. Have you looked through a sampling recently? Bor – ing . . . . . .. . . . . .. at a very high price . . .

Can’t ever resist something like this. They’re rare to find in good condition, and always fun to pick up! Despite the obvious attractiveness of disposable tissues, true vintage and antique handkerchiefs are so interesting and many are exceptionally beautiful, with colorful printed designs, hand-done lace or embroidery. This one just makes me laugh – maybe the best kind . . . . . .
