This true vintage beauty from the ’50s or early ’60s was another surprise find. In textured wool, 3/4 length in a swing design (love that), angled pockets, wing collar and a silky satin black lining.
Label from Marshal Field & Company, Chicago. The buttons, of plastic or bakelite, are carved to reflect light in such a way that they sparkle as though there were rhinestones! I’ve never seen buttons like this before (and I’ve seen LOTS of vintage buttons).
Like new. Looks great on! It was stuck in with a lot of other nondescript coats. You just never know . . . .

This one is a favorite of mine. It is of a heavy cotton-type material with a quilted lining. Warm, but not too heavy. Fabulous Forties style and, also, very practical.
The colors are ivory, green and red. It’s perfect for spring and fall weather. The attached belt across the front and some elastic in back give the nipped waist feature that I really love. And, of course, pads in the shoulders. So flattering!

I love this one so much! Beautiful, soft suede in a luscious red. As always, wonderfully tailored – great buttons, lovely lining, nifty, elegant style. Forties shoulders are always a favorite of mine.
This one was originally purchased at the Holiday House in Estes Park, Colorado (also in Scottsdale, Arizona) by my great-grandmother. I have found many more wonderful leather and suede jackets in my vintage-hunting expeditions, and always at great prices.

Oh, how I wish Madge were here – so that you could see the lines of this two-piece ensemble. From the padded shoulders in the jacket to the below-the-knee skirt with a flared hem, this is Forties-style and the clues are so interesting!
It appears to be hand-tailored, with vintage buttons and an unusual back zipper. The fabric is an old-time knit, with an atomic pattern printed on. Forties? Fifties? Sixties?
This is a really cute example of Seventies – Eighties Does Forties . . . .

Beautiful true vintage western-wear jacket from the 1950s/early ’60s. Notice the superb workmanship and tailoring (even though it would look best on a size 4 model rather than size 6).
I LOVE the older leather items made in the American west, or in Mexico and Europe. So beautiful! Forgive me if your country has made wonderful leather items, too, and I have not mentioned you here.
The materials are of high quality and have enabled it to last for 50 years with very little sign of wear. Find a jacket of this type and enjoy it for life!
