This plain-looking frock has many characteristics which set it apart. I immediately spotted it as true vintage, but am especially drawn to the colors and print of the fabric.
Yes, it is pure cotton material – hand-tailored, with styling detail (a couple of tucks at the waist that make it look like it could be a 2-piece dress, which was a popular style in the early ’60’s). A-line cut, knee/below knee length and metal zipper in back.
It’s well-made in an enduring style but the cloth is the greatest “souvenir” of my trip to New Zealand. The colors and pattern are so much like the paintings and weaving done by the Maori – the original citizens of this land – a great thing to take home!
