ANOTHER “NEW” BRIDAL ENSEMBLE – FROM THE 1940’S – 1950’S

When it rains, it pours!  Wedding dresses have been coming my way.  This beautiful frock would also do nicely as a semi-formal dress for Prom or something similar. Pretty taffeta with a brocade design in pale blue – perfect for a bride or one of her attendants.

The pretty fascinator veil hat is definitely modern for that time and seems to push the wedding date into the early 1950’s, though wartime restrictions certainly toned down the opulence of women’s clothing in the Forties.  Less fabric and less of everything was the rule.  I love the hip pleating detail in front, which was a Forties thing.

So much fun!
